Video ENG Testing

|
Video electronystagmography (ENG)
testing is a painless and non-invasive way to
measure a number of brainstem and brain based
reflexes. An infrared camera inside a set of
goggles allows us to see and record specific
eye movements during testing. By measuring a
patient's ability to track an object in space,
fixate on an object while spinning or respond
to various stimuli we can observe several reflexes.
The parts of the brain that help coordinate these
reflexes include the frontal lobe, parietal lobe,
cerebellum and brainstem. Video ENG testing is often
used in the diagnosis and treatment of vertigo/dizziness
and is also beneficial for brain based conditions
including ADD/ADHD, balance problems, stroke rehab,
Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (MTBI), Post Concussive
Syndrome (PCS) and many other situations when
brain function is of concern.
